The goal of a Backgammon game is to shift your pieces around the Backgammon board and bear them off the game board faster than your competitor who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your pieces is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you move your chips are decided on by your overall playing techniques. Enthusiasts use different strategies in the different stages of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Technique
The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your checkers into your inside board and bear them off as quick as you can. This plan concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with little or no efforts to hit or barricade your competitor’s chips. The best scenario to employ this technique is when you think you can move your own pieces quicker than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your chips have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) your opponent does not use the hitting or blocking strategy.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main goal of the blocking plan, by its name, is to stop your opponent’s pieces, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your checkers quickly. Once you have established the barrier for the competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other pieces quickly off the board. You will need to also have an apparent plan when to extract and move the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the opposition utilizes the same blocking technique.
