Backgammon Wagering Tricks

Gambling backgammon can be exciting, especially if you understand how to succeed by playing effectively. But every now and then a trick or two can assist you even more and make you a better competitor.

One of the best schemes to win is to block your opponent in. It’ll prevent them from advancing their pieces away from your home board. This has to be done at the start of the game to keep your competitors 2 pieces in your home board. So you need to move your pieces to points seven, five, and four as quickly as as you can and even two and three if possible. Maintain your point of six with the 6 pieces where it is. This will make sure that your challenger can not get out of your home board and help your odds of locking them in to come away with a win.

By barracading your competitor in, they will be hoping for double 6’s once all other moves have been made to get those 2 pieces out of your home board. If doubles are not rolled, your challenger will be forced to move 1 piece at a time, as long as they toss a 6 or better, and leave 1 piece behind and vulnerable. Of course in the process of veering off your own checkers, ensure you do not leave 1 alone where your challenger can send you off to the bar to make your way through their home board.

When in doubt, hit. This can help you win because as soon as your opposition is hit, that checker is the piece they need to move before they can do anything else in the game. So if you hit them multiple times, they will have to return a number of pieces back on the board and get past your checkers to succeed. Be certain you do not hit where it’ll cause you to be vulnerable to being hit yourself. Unless of course it will be advantageous to you, as in early in the game when your competitor will not have you barricaded in.

Landing a hit when you have a block started can also be beneficial due to the fact that once you get a couple of points blocked, your challenger will have a difficult time moving their pieces out of your home board and winning. It’s even possible to hit them several times and get your barricade ready. That way you can barricade them from re-entering the game and even having a chance at beating you.

These two pointers aren’t the only strategy to succeed, but they are great ideas for novices to become more accomplished enthusiasts. So when you conquer these, winning most of the time will not appear to be such a demanding thing to do.
